We are proud to annouce that bioBotanica is now operating as a 'carbon neutral' business. We have offset all our emissions (eg. transportation, manufacturing, printing and even harvesting) by purchasing carbon credits with a local company, Coolplanet.
Sausage Tree Extract
Our formulas contain Kigelia africana, a little known African plant extract renown for it’s extraordinary curative properties. They offer active ingredients that provide a long sought after solution for problem skin.
All products are GMO free, contain no petro-chemicals, parabens, mineral oils, artificial colours or fragrances.
We use safe reliable preservatives, such as suttocide, rosemary extract and vitamin E to ensure product integrity and shelf life.
How is Kigelia Extract made?
Communities throughout Southern Africa have recently organised small enterprises that harvest this valuable, sustainable product.
Our suppliers work closely with these communities and traditional healers, promoting the concept that their knowledge offers a viable option for health care.
The tree grows prolifically throughout Southern Africa and is harvested from the wild, on a sustainable basis.
The tree’s fruit, bark, roots and leaves are all used for their curative properties. The extract we use is produced only from the Kigelia africana fruit pulp to ensure a sustainable supply and long term economic viability.
bioBotanica and its suppliers activities are structured to be beneficial to the conservation of biodiversity and the communities of people involved in accessing these natural resources. Our suppliers are members of IFAT (International Fair Trade Association) and work closely with the ICUN (World Conservation Union) and People and Plants International (PPI).
We are presently working toward gaining organic certification of the Kigelia extract and Fair Trade accreditation for our network of suppliers.
bioBotanica is 100% Australian owned and operated. Our Kigelia formulas are manufactured in Byron Bay, Australia, using only locally sourced base ingredients. Our range is crafted by hand in low volume batches ensuring high quality and guaranteed freshness.
